active access What is Active Access? Active Access is a discount scheme saving you money on a wide range of sport and leisure activities in Gateshead. You can swim, use the gym, attend a fitness class and much more!
Who is entitled to Active Access? Active Access is available to Gateshead residents (and their dependants), who are in receipt of any of the following benefits: • • • • • • • • • • •

How much does it cost?
active card What is an Active Card? The Gateshead Active Card is a discount card for a wide range of sport and leisure activities in Gateshead. You can swim, use the gym, attend a fitness class and much more!
Who can apply? The Card is available to everyone, including non-residents. Perfect if you work, but don’t live in Gateshead but still want to take advantage of our fantastic facilities across the borough.

How much does it cost? 17 yrs + £10 0 - 18 yrs* Residents £1, Non Residents £2 All cards must be renewed annually.
Active Access costs £1. All cards must be renewed every 6 months. Subject to an annual price increase April 2016
How do I get Active Access? To obtain the Active Access card you must produce proof of the benefit you receive at the time of application and hand it in to any of the Gateshead Sport & Leisure facilities listed in this leaflet. If you don’t already have one you can get a ‘proof of benefit’ letter by contacting the benefit enquiry line on 0845 608 8545.
How do I get my card? Gateshead Active Card applicants simply need to complete the attached form and hand it in to any of the Gateshead Sport & Leisure facilities listed in this leaflet. *In full time education

• To receive stated benefits the card must be shown at time of use and the card number quoted when making telephone bookings.

• Facilities and activities are subject to availability, session times and opening hours. • Gateshead Council reserves the right at its discretion to withdraw an Active Card from any person(s) who misuses the card, provides false information or who does not conform to the conditions of use. • Cardholders are subject to the general establishment rules for all leisure facilities operated by Gateshead Council. • Student members must show evidence on their first visit that they are undertaking a taught course of at least 16 hours teaching time per week. • Persons under 16 must have their parent/guardian’s consent before they can apply for a card. • Customers may leave their card as a deposit for hired equipment. If the equipment is lost or damaged through misuse the cardholder will be liable for replacement / repair costs. • Should cardholders cancel a booking, 24 hours notice of cancellation will be required or the full fee may be charged. • The benefits of the card will be withdrawn if the cardholder is in any payment default.
